Sardines are a
piece of heaven! If you haven’t paid so much attention to this kind of fish, you have to know that its taste is
truly amazing! So, let’s get to the bottom of things, shall we?
- What do real sardines look like?
Despite the fact sardines are
quite small in size many people say that’s some of most beautiful fish ever. Their big scales are greenish-blue on the back and silvery-white on the belly.
The story is quite interesting actually. So, every year sardines that live in the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea gather together at large shoals. What they do is
migrate to South Africa’s seashore as they follow the cold current. During this migration the groups that number
over 5 billion fish (which is around 13km, by the way!) are chased by dolphins, whales, sharks and all kinds of birds. Now that’s a phenomenon!
- What makes sardines so healthy?
This meat is super
rich in proteins, which are easily absorbed by the human organism. What’s more, sardines also contain
cod liver oil that’s said to be much healthier than most of the vegetable oils. There are also lots of unsaturated fats, omega-3 and minerals such as iodine, magnesium, calcium, zinc and others. Let’s not forget the antioxidants and the vitamins that are so important for our health!
- How sardines may help you?
- This fish is good for pregnant women and children because people say it doesn't accumulate high doses of mercury – the chemical element, which is so dangerous for us all!
- If you consume sardines on a regular basis, you may decrease the bad cholesterol as well as some of the symptoms of psoriasis.
- Omega-3 is super powerful when it comes to the brain, the nervous and the cardiovascular systems. Hurray!
- What you need to know is that sardines are your number one choice if you’re not a fan of red meat. Why? Because this small fish can give you all the essential amino acids that your body needs every day!
In the end, we would like to give you a super simple recipe for a
